What Do I Gain By Following Jesus?

You Will Gain Life! Jesus is the only way to heaven and eternal life, unless you have accepted Him as your Savior there is no amount of work, repentance, or praying you can do to get there. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

No one likes to think that today may be their last day on earth, but if you were to die today would you be 100% sure that you are going to heaven?
You can know today!

Perhaps you have never known or are curious about what God and Jesus is all about. Maybe you grew up around Religion and have never heard the true Gospel. Or maybe you even blocked God out of your life completely due to circumstances or wrong teaching and have a fear that God is angry with you, does not love you, or question whether or not He even exists. No matter what the reason, I am here to tell you that God does exist, He loves you and He wants to be in your life and give you the wonderful life He has waiting for you. Regardless of what you have done in your past, God is waiting for you to return to or find Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The honest truth is that there is only one way to heaven and that is through the Lord, Jesus Christ. Joining a religion or doing what you think will get you there will not. You have to be willing to accept Jesus Christ into your life. I am here to explain how you can receive or know for sure that you have eternal life, below are the steps to take in order to receive God's gift of eternal life and the Kingdom of God.

You will be able to reference all Scripture from the King James Bible. At the end of the page, you will have the knowledge you need accept God's gift, it is solely up to you whether or not you choose to do so. I pray that God will work in your heart to enable you to understand these truths and welcome you into the kingdom of God.

1. You Must Realize What A Sin Is
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23

Sin is any wrong doing in your life, it is any action, thought, or word spoken that is immoral, deceitful, or illegal.

Sin includes more than just adultery, it is also acts such as rebellion, lying, and disobedience of any sort.

No one is without sin, no matter how much one tries to keep the wrongs out of their lives, we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (His honor).

2. You Must Realize God's Price on Sin

"For the wages of sin is death;" - Romans 6:23a. God's price for sin is death.

God is not just talking about a physical death here, He is talking about a second death, the death of the soul.

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." - Revelation 20:14

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." - Revelation 21:8.

When we are born we have a spirit, body, and soul, when the spirit leaves the body this is the first death, leaving the soul to go to one of two places, heaven or hell.

3. You Must Realize That You Are A Sinner Too

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" - Romans 5:12.
Since the beginning of creation when Adam and Eve sinned by eating the forbidden fruit we have been penalized and are all born into sin. To learn more of Adam and Eve's sin and the consequences we all face due to it, please read Genesis Chapter 3.

You can not escape the death payment owed to God for even the tiniest of sin and if you say that you have no sin in your life you are lying, everyone has sinned. "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." - I John 1:10

4. But God Sent Someone To Pay That Price For You
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." - John 3:16,17.

God does love you and does not want to see you cast into the lake of fire, therefore, He sent Jesus to pay the debt you owe so you can be saved from the lake of fire.

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to save you, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS." - Matthew 1:23-25.

5. You Must Realize How Jesus Paid For Your Sins
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." - Romans 5:8-10.

Jesus paid the price of your sin debt by giving up His life for you.

Jesus was not born into sin, therefore He never knew sin and that is how He was able to pay God's price for sin. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - II Corinthians 5:21

6.You Must Believe That Jesus Resurrected From The Dead
"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." - Revelation 1:18

"Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils." - Mark 16:9

After spending 3 days and 3 nights in a tomb Jesus arose from the dead and is alive today

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." - Matthew 12:40

7. Now God Has A Gift For You

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23
The Gift of Eternal Life.

Eternal life, means endless, forever, and always, it is only through Jesus Christ that you can receive the gift of eternal life.

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." - I John 5:11,12.

8. How To Receive God's Gift

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." - Romans 10:9,10

You have to confess with your mouth that you are a sinner and ask Jesus to save you.

If you believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ you can receive God's gift of eternal life, but the only way for you to receive His gift is to ask Him for it. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13.

9. Are You Ready to Receive The Gift Of Eternal Life?

Accept the following statements to be true.
1. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is the only way to heaven.
2. I realize that I am a sinner and fall short of the glory of God.
3. I realize that Jesus paid the price for my sins, through His death, burial, and resurrection.
4. I realize that salvation is a gift from God through Jesus.
5. I realize that I can only receive Gods gift is to ask Him for it.

Now if you believe that the following statements are true pray this prayer:
Dear God,
I recognize that I have sinned and fallen short of receiving the gift of salvation.
I believe with all of my heart that Your son, Jesus died for me and paid my wages for the sins that I have committed. Please forgive me Jesus, for all of my sins and allow me the salvation that you have graciously given to those who accept You. I have complete trust in You and from this moment on I will depend on You for my salvation. Amen.

Now, if you just said this prayer and it was truly from your heart then you have the Gift of Salvation. That means that you are now enjoying eternal life with our Savior Jesus Christ even if you never do anything else for Him.
